The Alternative Education Program is operated at the Nederland Alternative Education School.  Secondary students who exhibit flagrant/habitual misconduct on their home campus who would be potential candidates for expulsion are eligible for participation. 

The program offers an educationally sound alternative for these students.  Students placed in this program are able to continue their instructional program and while attending will receive individual and group counseling which focuses on the development of self-control and responsibility.  Students are placed for a period of not less than 10 days or
more than a semester.
